	PVC-u Doors
Q.	I see a door on your website that I like, what next?
A.	Either phone or email us and we'll arrange a free home survey at a time that suits you.
	(Survey usually takes no more than 20-30 minutes)

Q.	What kind of locking system do your doors have?
A.	All our doors have multi point locking systems and are approved to British Standard, each door comes supplied with 3 keys.

Q.	Are your doors guaranteed?
A.	All our doors are fully guaranteed.

Q.	Can you get a low level thresh on a PVC-u door?
A.	Yes you can get a low level aluminium thresh that is suitable for disabled access.

Q.	What kind of finishes can you get?
A.	White, mahogany, oak and rosewood in various combinations.

Q.	Are your doors reinforced?
A.	Yes the frames are reinforced with galvanised steel, and the panels are reinforced with 9mm moisture resistant MDF as standard.

	PVC-u Doors Repair Service
Q.	I have a PVC-u door and the panel is damaged do I need a new door?
A.	Not necessarily we can cost you for a replacement panel.

Q.	I already have a PVC-u door but I don't really like the style of it, can I change the infill panel for a different style?
A.	Yes we have 100's of styles to choose from.

Q.	Can you fit a cat flap in a PVC-u Door?
A.	Generally speaking yes, it depends which style of panel you have, in some cases we can supply you with a new infill panel with a cat flap pre-fitted.

Q.	I have a PVC-u door and the Lock is not working, do I need a new door?
A.	Not necessarily we can cost you for a replacement locking system.

Q.	I have a PVC-u door and every time I put the key in to lock or unlock, it is difficult to turn, do I need a new door?
A.	Not necessarily we can cost you for a replacement Key Barrel.

Q.	I have a PVC-u door and the Handle is not working do I need a new door?
A.	Not necessarily we can cost you for a new handle.

Q.	I have a PVC-u door and the Letterplate is Broken do I need a new door?
A.	Not necessarily we can cost you for a new Letterplate.

Q.	I have Brass effect Handles & letterplate, But I fancy them in Chrome, Is it possible to change them?
A.	Yes you can have the choice of Brass, Chrome, Silver Aluminium, Black or White.

Q.	I have a PVC-u door with a glass panel at the top and a glass panel at the bottom, one of them is broken can I replace glass with same pattern?
A.	Yes we would replace it with the same glass if it is still available (All glass is toughened as standard)

Q.	I have PVC-u doors at the front and back of my house and I am looking to change the locks, can I get the same key to fit both doors?
A.	Yes we can arrange for a 'key a like' system with as many or as little keys as you want.

	External & Internal Wooden Doors
Q.	Are your wooden doors made from solid timbers or engineered construction?
A.	Due to environmental awareness and in the interest of continued improvement, we reserve the right to include enginereed components in some or all of the wooden doors we offer!

Q.	Are your wooden doors mortice and tenon or doweled?
A.	Nowadays it is common practice for internal wooden doors to be dowel jointed unless it is a custom built door. Most of our external doors are mortice and tenon with the exception of one or two styles within our range of doors. All external custom built doors are mortice and tenon joints

Q.	What kind of locks do you fit?
A.	All locks are a minimum of BS3621 and comply with or exceed insurance requirements.

Q.	We have odd size doors (Internal) The area we live in seems to have the same problem we have!
A.	You probably have "Metric size" doors. Builders from the mid 70's onwards (especially on estates) often used metric sizes which included doors. If your doors are taller than standard (imperial) doors and often narrower, then you may be metric. We have a section within our site dedicated to Metric Sizes.

Q.	We have odd size doors (External & Internal) It is quite an old house.
A.	In a lot of older properties especially the early 1900s the door sizes and styles can vary, It is most probable that they are not standard sizes. We can custom build doors to your specification.

Q.	What is doweled construction?
A.	Dowel construction doors are made from individual components (top, middle & bottom rails, stiles and panels) which are then jointed together by way of using large fluted dowels, which are then glued and inserted into dowel holes. The whole door is then clamped together using a hydraulic press until dry. This process is used to assemble some external and nearly all internal doors.

Q.	What is mortice and tenon (M&T) construction?
A.	M&T construction means the way in which the door is jointed together. A “tenon” peg from one section of timber is let into a “mortised” hole in another section. The tenon is then glued and wedged into place to secure a solid joint. The door panels are then set in waterproof mastic ensuring that the highest level of weatherproofing is achieved. Doors made from an M&T construction are traditionally better equipped to withstand the rigors of severe weather than a dowel construction door.


	General
Q.	How long will it be before I get my door(s) fitted?
A.	It all depends on the style and size, but usually 2-3 weeks, Custom built doors can take 6-8 weeks.

Q.	What areas do you cover?
A.	Generally Speaking, Falkirk, Stirling, Clackmannanshire and Fife, ocassionally we do work outwith these areas depending on job requirements.

Q.	Will there be a lot of mess?
A.	As with any type of building work, there will be sawdust etc, so to keep this to a minimum we put down dust sheets hoover up any mess and dispose of your old doors.

Q.	I have recently had new carpets fitted and my doors can't close, would you be able to trim them?
A.	Yes we can give you a cost to trim them.

Q.	Do you just do doors?
A.	No, we also do small joineryworks and Double glazing repairs.

Q.	Is it just Domestic work you do?
A.	No, we also do commercial work, shops, offices, factories etc.

Q.	Do you paint or varnish the doors?
A.	No we recommend you get a suitably qualified decorator to do this.
